Hello Cathedral Family,
As a small boy, I still remember singing the words to this song,
“This is my story this is my song, praising my savior all the day long.”
A few weeks ago we started re-digging the well (telling the story) of Cathedral as we move toward our 30 year anniversary. The Bible tells us to tell our story to our children and to our children’s children.
Psalms 78:5-7
For He established a testimony in Jacob,
And appointed a law in Israel,
Which He commanded our fathers,
That they should make them known to their children;
That the generation to come might know them,
The children who would be born,
That they may arise and declare them to their children,
That they may set their hope in God,
And not forget the works of God,
But keep His commandments.
We started re-digging the well of one of the deepest values of Cathedral, that people who are far from God really matter to God. And we are on a mission to reach as many as we can. This past Sunday we heard a message from John Maxwell giving us some excellent tools to reach people far from God. We had to edit his message for time, but you can see the entire video here.
Who’s your Top Ten? John talked about his Top Ten list, the hard ten, he called them. They’re people he relates to intentionally, and creatively adds value to, so that in time he will have an opportunity to share his faith. I love this from John, “I refuse to share my faith with anyone until I’ve added value to them.” So who is far from God that you are adding value to? Who’s on your list? Who are you praying for to come to know your God?
Let’s all believe God for eyes to see people that are around us every day that are far from God and for a heart to reach them.
