Note from Mike – Happy Thanksgiving

November 23, 2016

Hello Cathedral family,

Happy Thanksgiving! I can’t think of a better way to prepare for the Christmas season than becoming thankfully aware of the people in our lives. When all is said and done, they’re all that matters. So take a deep breath, slow down, and celebrate the ones you love.

Last week there was a strong sense of the Lord moving in service. He was calling unbelievers and believers alike to ‘come home’, and that invitation is still open! Earlier this week, as I was thinking about that, I came across a familiar passage, Jeremiah 6:16“Thus says the Lord: Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls.”

My prayer for you is that you find strength for your struggle in God’s amazing grace, and rest for your soul in His old ways. God’s ways are good!

Last Sunday, we gave out cards with Romans 12:1-2 in the Message version. I really love this translation. Our graphics team created mobile and desktop wallpapers of an excerpt from this passage for you to download here. I hope it reminds you to let God be God and surrender to His leading in your life. Life is so much better when we live it God’s way!

This week we’ll continue Running with the Giants with a surprise guest. You may recognize him once I begin telling his story. It’s his story, but it’s ours as well. Simply put, God wants you to know just how far He’s willing to go to convey His love to you.

I’ll see you Sunday!
