Note from Mike – We Love Because God Loved Us First ❤️

February 12, 2021

By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.
John 13:35 (NIV)

Dear Cathedral Family,

Do you sense the excitement in the air? God is definitely on the move. I have great expectations for 2021 – for renewal, restoration, reawakening and REVIVAL. God chose us to be alive at this time in history, so let’s keep pressing in to discover and fulfill His purposes for us!

I’m loving the way we’re continuing the momentum of our 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting with our hour of Wednesday Morning Prayer (6:30am-7:30am, in-person and online). When the church prays, things change; we change. When we pray, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done!”, heaven has an entry point into the affairs of mankind. That’s powerful right there!

This Sunday is week 2 of our ACTIVATE series. Pastors Luke and Megan Turner will be focusing on LOVE, and you definitely don’t want to miss their message. I believe that God is going to meet us in a very real and life-changing way this Sunday.

We read so much about love in the Bible. Jesus said that the two greatest commandments are 1) LOVE GOD and 2) LOVE PEOPLE! So, if we want to live well and please God, we’re going to need to be able to love well!

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another…And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them…We love because he first loved us.
                                                   1 John 4:11,16,19 (NIV)

No matter what has happened up to this point in your life, here’s the reality: God loves you! God loves YOU! Take a moment to let that TRUTH sink in. God…loves…YOU! So much that Jesus was willing to give His life for you.

Perhaps real love like that is a foreign concept to you or just hard to receive. I get it. So, let’s talk about LOVE this Sunday! We’ll be worshipping together in-person at 9am and 11am and via Facebook live and Livestream at 11am. Come expecting an encounter with God!

And if you’re ready to take what you’re learning on Sundays to the next level, then I’d encourage you to get into our Growth Track and/or join a group. Life really is better together!

I’m looking forward to seeing you this Sunday!
