Hello Cathedral Family!

WELCOME HOME to everyone who traveled out of harm’s way last week due to Hurricane Florence.

After local evacuation orders were lifted last Saturday, we made the decision to have church services on Sunday. Thanks to our incredible volunteers, we were able to pull it off! There was an atmosphere of JOY all over the church campus, and many lives were changed. THANK YOU to everyone who answered the call, literally, to come in and serve on such short notice! If you missed last week’s message, you can watch it here.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with those who have suffered tremendous loss due to the storm. This past Sunday, we started receiving monetary donations and began the search for local relief groups with whom we could partner. We’ve found one! And the story is a classic case of what we talked about last week, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” (Romans 8:28)

In light of the wide impacts of Hurricane Florence, we made the decision to reschedule our Girlfriends Getaway event that was planned for this week. (Many thanks to our ladies for being so understanding!) Turns out that the couple who operates the Conference Center our ladies would have been using for a meeting space also pastor a church in North Myrtle Beach. Their church is now using the Conference Center as a resource/distribution center to supply aid to people in their community and surrounding areas. Our rescheduling freed up their space to assist many, many people!

We’ll share more about what is happening there and how you can get involved on Sunday. If you would like to give towards the storm relief, you may do so during service on Sunday or give online here. It’s so good to know that our gifts will go directly to helping those in need!

THIS SUNDAY, Pastor Eddie Tilley will be teaching from a passage in the Bible that has really come alive to him during our STUCK series – Luke, chapter 12, verses 1-31. I won’t steal his thunder, but you need to know that he’s VERY EXCITED about bringing this passage of scripture to life with his incredible storytelling and teaching skills. I’m looking forward to his insights about Jesus’ disciples and one of their “in-between” places that we can apply to our own lives!

INVITE a friend to come with you Sunday!
