Mind Blown

September 18, 2020

Dear Cathedral Family,

What an incredible 33rd Anniversary celebration last Sunday! Thank you so much for being a part of this church family. Dean and I just can’t stop thinking about how grateful we are that God chose us to be a part of His story that continues unfolding here. And, Cathedral, we’re just getting started!

You know now passionate we are about reaching people with the Good News of the Gospel and seeing people leave the kingdom of darkness and come into the Kingdom of God! It’s one of our high values that we talked about last Sunday. We’re on mission to carry out the final instructions Jesus gave the church – “go and make disciples.” The full meaning of “go” might be communicated better with this phrase – “in your going.”

In other words, in your everyday life – in the way you… relate to your wife, handle your finances, bring up your children, work, do everythinglet who you are and the way you live your life show others how to know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and ultimately live a life of significance that really makes a difference.

Now here’s what’s really encouraging. God doesn’t just give us direction on WHAT to do; He also gives us the WHY and the HOW! In Philippians 2:13, we read these powerful words: “…for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.”

That Good News that tells me that I don’t have to muster up all the strength, and I don’t have to figure it out on my own. God is working in us to energize and empower us to fulfill “His good purpose.” That is mind-blowing! God Almighty, the Creator of the Universe, is working in each one of us! It’s a set-up for a BIG WIN!

This Sunday, we’re starting our new series – MIND BLOWN. If your hope level needs a boost, if you’re asking questions about your purpose and significance, or if you’re just ready for something to shift, then make it a priority to be fully engaged in the services for the new few weeks. I’m excited for you to hear from a dear friend of the house, Dr. Glen Schultz, as we begin the journey of shifting our perspective in a way that we believe is going to be life-changing.

We’ll be worshipping together in-person at 9am and 11am and via Facebook Live and Livestream at 11am. Let’s press in and get all God has for us in this season!

I can’t wait to see you on Sunday!
