Hello Cathedral Family,
How’s your second mile? Last week, in our Running With The Giantsseries, we studied the life of Rebekah, the great great grandmother of Jesus. We learned about The Rebekah Principle which is choosing to go the second mile. The first mile is what you’re obligated to do at home, work, relationships, etc. The second mile is what you choose to do above and beyond what’s expected of you.
Some people go through life doing just enough, only what’s expected. Then there are others, second miler’s, who have an attitude of serving by going above and beyond what’s expected of them. From Rebekah’s life we learn two very important truths, your destiny and your miracle are in the second mile. It’s the attitude of serving others that opens the door of opportunity for your life.
This week we’re studying the life of Joseph. Joseph understood the principle of going the second mile even in the face of tremendous adversity. If we learn one thing from family turned against me…don’t give up. My boss fired me…don’t give up. I was wrongfully accused…don’t give up. No, you don’t understand. My family turned against me AND my boss fired me AND I was wrongfully accused…DON’T GIVE UP!
