Dear Cathedral Family,
“I’m living the dream, my friend!” Have you ever heard someone say that and walked away thinking…”Wow! I wish I was living the dream.”?
Well, what if you already are? One of my favorite movie lines is from the film, The Matrix. Morpheus is explaining to Neo that things are not as they seem, and he says to Neo, “It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.” I believe more of us are living the dream than we realize, but somehow we just can’t see it.
The truth is, dreams come in all shapes and sizes. Some of the best dreams can be found in the seemingly small things. It’s just a matter of perspective.
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.
Ephesians 1:17-19 (NIV)
That was Paul’s prayer for the church in Ephesus. It’s my prayer for you, too – that God will open the eyes of your heart to see the dreams that are coming true right now in your life – in your family, your children, your friends, your relationships, your job, and so much more. And then, as your hope rises and your vision gets clearer, I believe you’ll begin to dream new dreams for the future.
I’m looking forward to sharing more about this with you on Sunday!
Living the dream,
Mike Lewis
