We all want to know we’re accepted, that our lives are worthwhile, and that we’re not alone. They’re the basic needs of the human spirit, and they permeate every area of our life. In a shame-based culture, it’s easy to fall into the trap of trying to meet these needs through our DOING, but God intended them to be met through our BEING in relationships.

DOING is a relentless taskmaster. No matter how much you DO or how well you DO it, it’s never quite enough, which feels a lot like…YOU’RE not enough. Before you know it, your sense of worth decreases and you begin to shrink back within yourself until you feel isolated and alone.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30

BEING a child of God settles the issues of acceptance and worth and creates an outflow of your BEING into those around you. Now you inject life into your workplace, your family, and your friends. This Sunday, we’ll continue to UNTANGLE shame and embrace God’s amazing grace for our life.

The Financial Peace University small groups have completed their nine-week curriculum! While the journey to Financial Peace will continue in our congregation, these small groups have hit a significant milestone that we will celebrate as part of our Sunday service.

I’ll see you Sunday!
