Thank You and Keep Praying for Pastor Luke

May 6, 2020

Dear Church Family,

I would like to thank everyone for your prayers, thoughts, and heartfelt messages over the last few days. We have been so blessed to experience firsthand what it feels like to be loved by our amazing Cathedral family. We wanted to update you and help you know how to pray more specifically!

We’re so thankful that Luke has completely recovered his speech and his ability to walk since the TIA on Sunday. That’s definitely something to celebrate! Today, we were able to hear from the neurosurgeon at MUSC and got some very hopeful news.

The artery in which the aneurysm is located is much larger than the aneurysm itself. This gives us some more time to work toward better stabilizing Luke’s blood pressure and allows us to wait until this Friday to do an angiogram. During that appointment, we will get a better look at the aneurysm, which will provide some answers that the doctors need to make decisions concerning their next move. Please be praying that the angiogram is extremely clear and we are placed in just the right doctor’s hands.

We also ask you to continue to pray for answers about Luke’s blood pressure and the cause of the TIA he had on Sunday. We have an appointment with a neurologist on Monday to help us get to the bottom of his continually rising blood pressure despite taking medicine, medicine changes, and even multiple medicine increases.

We need some answers regarding why, at his young age, he is having these high numbers and, of course, why the TIA happened. The doctor said it this way today, “A TIA is a way of letting you know something isn’t right; and you need to figure out what it is before something worse, with much more damaging and lasting effects, happens.” We still really believe that this was God’s miracle of getting the right person to take a closer look at what is going on with Luke’s body and are looking forward to getting that answer!

Luke and I are blown away by the amount of support we have received. Each one of you that have paused your life to pray and reach out have no idea how it has ministered to us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We know that your prayers play a key role in continuing to watch this miracle unfold! Friday and Monday are big days for him, with hopefully some big answers. We look forward to updating all of you with those answers!

Love doing life with you,
