August 28, 2020
Dear Cathedral Family,
How many times has the phrase “What Now?!” come out of your mouth in 2020?
Perhaps it’s been a happy and excited “what now?!” – like a newlywed couple embarking on their life together or a couple expecting their first baby. Or a concerned “what now?!” – as you face being laid-off or furloughed at your job, or having to make those kinds of decisions as an employer. Or a perplexed “what now?!” – as you try to decide which route to take for your child’s schooling this fall. Or an adventurous “what now?!” – as new opportunities open up before you.
Wherever you find yourself in this season, I think we’d all agree that 2020 has been a wild ride so far! Thankfully, we’re not in this alone. And we have access to incredible stories of men and women who faced seemingly impossible challenges and found hope, direction, and strategies for moving forward – in the Bible, throughout history, and all around us.
Last Sunday, Pastor Dave Ammons gave us a five-step roadmap for handling this season with excellence drawn from an event in the life of David, the shepherd-warrior who would become king, that you can read about in 1 Samuel 30. If you missed the message, you can watch it here.
This Sunday, Pastor Dave will continue our WHAT NOW?! series with a focus on the power of praise. We’re looking forward to a great service together. I’m confident that you’ll be encouraged and find strength for whatever “what now?!” you’re facing.
We’ll be worshipping together in-person at 9am and 11am and via Facebook live and Livestream at 11am. Be sure to invite a friend to join you – either on campus or perhaps via a watch party. Now, more than ever, people need the hope that we have in Jesus. Let’s not keep the good news to ourselves.
Continuing to speak blessings over you and your family,
Mike Lewis
