Hello Cathedral Family!

PRAY FOR THE BEST, but be prepared. Our governor just finished his press conference calling for mandatory evacuations of coastal counties, school closings and lane reversals of I-26. Dorchester School District 2 will be closing. Our policy has been that Cathedral Preschool and Cathedral Academy complies with Dorchester 2, so we will be closing at the end of business today.

OUR CHURCH OFFICES will be closed Tuesday through Friday, as well, to allow our staff to plan according to their personal situations, and to provide adequate time for our storm readiness crew to prepare the campus for any impending threat from the storm. All on-campus activities are canceled tonight (Monday) through Friday.

SUNDAY’S COMING and WE’RE HAVING CHURCH, Lord willing! If all is well and the campus is operational, we’ll have our normal church services at 9 and 11am. If for some reason we’re not able to have church on campus, we will post it on our Facebook page and other social media. You can continue to watch our social media pages for updates, post-Florence, as to our Sunday service plans.

THAT’S ALL THE INFORMATION, but now let me give you some INSPIRATION. No matter what your plans are for weathering the next few days, don’t allow the chaos and urgency of those around you, and especially the 24/7 news cycle, rob you of the PEACE promised by God.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

So as you’re preparing, be sure to pray for the best!

I’LL SEE YOU SUNDAY, and we’ll continue looking at how to keep ourselves moving towards God’s promises so we don’t get STUCK!
