Note from Mike – The Power of Kindness

October 27, 2017

Doing Life Together. If you’ve been around Cathedral for any length of time, you’ve probably heard the phrase, “We’re Better Together!” It’s not just a feel-good idea. It’s wisdom from God’s Word found in the Old Testament:

Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Ecclesiastes4:9-10(NLT)

Have you ever found yourself in the ditch? In a spot where things look hopeless? Where you’ve come to the place you said, “Something HAS to change. NOW.”

That’s exactly where Ruth and Naomi find themselves at the beginning of the story we’ll be diving into this Sunday. I’m so looking forward to unpacking the book of Ruth with you. It’s a magnificent story of REDEMPTION!

I think you’re going to be amazed at the power of kindness we see at play in this story. You know, sometimes the most spiritual thing is just to be kind. I promise, kindness works. It’s a great strategy to consider as you’re connecting with your Top Ten list.

We had an amazing time praying over all the Top Ten cards you’ve turned in during ENCOUNTER on Tuesday night. There was such a sense of God’s presence and shift in the atmosphere as we worshipped. We’ll be praying over these cards again at Prayer Night this Saturday from 6pm-7pm AND this Sunday during our services.

Keep believing, keep praying, keep reaching out! We look forward to celebrating with you as the lives of people you care about are changed, just like God has been doing over the last 30 years here at Cathedral.

Be sure to plan to be here for our 30th Anniversary services on November 12 at 9 & 11am and stay for the picnic after the 11am service out at the pavilion. We’re going to celebrate what God has done, and set our sights on what He has for our future as we continue to fulfill His call and bring Him glory – TOGETHER.

I’ll see you Sunday!
