Note from Mike – The Hope of the World

October 20, 2017

This Is US

The Hope of the World. Our world needs hope – something that builds a sense of expectation of good happening and gives a reason for living, something that helps and builds trust. Hope can literally save a life.

That’s a major part of our job description as The Church – to be the hope of the world. We have the key to abundant life – a relationship with God. And the only way we can share that hope is to keep intentionally being salt and light in relationships with people who are far from God.

How are you doing connecting with your Top Ten list? If you’re struggling a little (or a lot), you’re not alone. Do you know that there’s incredible opposition to connecting and sharing the Good News? And not just outside the church. We face challenges connecting with fellow Christ followers.

What is going on and how can we get victory? Here’s a little insight:

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
                                                                        Ephesians 6:12

I know you’re going to get some incredible revelation and fresh hope this Sunday as Pastor Eddie Tilley brings the message. I’m looking forward to hearing it, too!

Have you found a group yet? Remember what we talked about last Sunday. “Find your people, and you’ll find your purpose.” Get out there and try a group. If it doesn’t click, try again. Or explore the possibility of starting your own group. No matter what – never, ever, ever give up!

We had a great planning time this week around our 30th Anniversary services on November 12 at 9 & 11am. It’s going to be a grand time of celebration that launches us into what I believe will be the best years of Cathedral. All I can say right now is you’re going to walk out with an incredible sense of “Yay, God!!!”

I encourage you to take advantage of two great opportunities to build your faith and experience God’s presence in addition to the Sunday services:

  • Prayer Night – Saturday evenings from 6-7pm in the worship center
  • ENCOUNTER – One hour of extended worship this coming Tuesday, October 24 from 7-8pm

Now, more than ever, it’s time for us to encourage one another and believe what God says about who He is and who we are in Him. The truth is –

“…overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.”
Romans 8:37

I’ll see you Sunday!
